Welcome to St Mary the Virgin the Parish Church of West Moors, Dorset

A warm welcome from the Ministry Team and all who worship at Saint Mary’s Church, in the Parish of West Moors, Dorset.

We are a growing and friendly family of Christians who meet to share and enrich our faith that God calls all people to himself through Jesus Christ and empowers us through his Holy Spirit.

Our Team is led by our Vicar, Revd. Andrew Rowland, and assisted by Tony Cooke (Licensed Lay Minister) and Janet Parker, Mike Bowler, Elizabeth Bowler, Di Kirk, Sue Dowsett, Liz Cook, Jan Cribbin, Veronica Morgan, Judy Sweet, Dawn Beek and Pam Prendergast (Lay Pastoral Assistants).  Mike Bowler and Sue Oldrey are our present serving Churchwardens.

The Parish is governed by the Parochial Church Council, led by our Vicar, the Churchwardens and other persons elected from the church. We are part of The Wimborne Deanery of Salisbury Diocese of the Church of England.

Our worship is mainly based around The Eucharist (Holy Communion). At 10.00 am COSMIC's (Children of St Mary's in Church) leave us after the beginning to go next door into the Annex, and then rejoin us later on during the service.  On the First Sunday monthly we all worship together ('Our Family Service').  We are a family friendly church within the modern catholic tradition.  We hope that you will feel welcome here – most of all we pray that you will recognize Christ amongst us.

We want to draw closer to God; Father, Son and Holy Spirit, through worship, prayer, study and sharing our lives with each other and the community as Jesus taught us.  This is both serious and fun, come and join in!

Welcome!
